IKEA Food Policies

IKEA's food policies - enjoy a meal with full confidence!
People are becoming increasingly concerned about the source and content of the food they eat. IKEA provides delicious food that is  safe and healthy, and, as an environmentally and socially responsible company is taking steps to meet higher environmental and ethical standards in the food we serve and sell in our stores. IKEA encourages and supports organic farming and purchases  organic products when they are commercially available.

IKEA and its suppliers are required to meet with all international and national food legislations. So we do our best to support the preservation and protection of the environment and assure a honest and ethical food sourcing and respect the rights and interests of all of those included.

We recognise that children need lots of energy and nutrients        from food, particularly when they are growing, and that is why we are taking steps into providing meals that are nutritious, fun and have a healthy balance.

We guarantee a coffee grown and sourced in a responsible way, taking both people and environment into consideration. To become UTZ certified, producers and corporations must confirm and oblidge to a lot of requirements, e.g.:

- All employees must be trained within health and safety procedures
- Minimizing the use of energy, water, fertilizers and pesticides

we help to make the world a better place for everyone!

That is why we use Non Hydrogenated frying oil which is rich in monounsaturated fats (which help reduce blood cholesterol levels) and is also naturally high in the antioxidant Vitamin E - which      helps to protect cells from damage by free radicals. We also keep frying to an absolute minimum and where possible oven bake    meals for our children's menus.
